Pianist David Gompper and violinist Wolfgang David will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, at the CFA Concert Hall.

Guest artists David Gompper and Wolfgang David will perform Tuesday, September 25, at the College of Fine Arts.

The piano and violin concert, which begins at 8 p.m. in the CFA Concert Hall, is free and open to the public. In addition to Gompper’s composition Echoes, which he wrote for David, the duo will perform works by Ching-chu Hu, Arnold Schoenberg, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Noel Zahler, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Gompper, a pianist, conductor, and composer, is a professor of composition and director of the Center for New Music at the University of Iowa. His compositions are performed across the United States and Europe.

David, a violinist, was admitted to the University for Music in Vienna at age eight. He is an internationally known recitalist and a guest soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the New York Virtuosi, and others.
