One Company, Many BU Students
Kari Rongo (COM’07) interns at a PR agency run in part by a BU alum.

Kari Rongo (COM’07) has something in common with 5 of 25 co-workers at her internship: they are all either current Boston University students or alums.
As public relations interns for Conover Tuttle Pace, a Boston-based advertising and public relations agency, Rongo and four other BU students do research, write, and help with new clients. Fred Conover (COM’81) is one of the three people on the company masthead. “I think it’s pretty interesting, because they must have high regard for a BU education and the kind of workers that BU produces,” says Rongo.
Rongo became interested in the internship at Conover Tuttle Pace after Jason Howarth (CGS’95, COM’96), the agency’s vice president of consumer and sports marketing, spoke about his career to her sports communication class. “I’m impressed with the ability of a company this size to do so much across the board in terms of PR, marketing, and advertising,” Rongo says.
After graduation, Rongo plans to return home to New York and pursue a career in communications. “But I’m not opposed to staying in Boston either,” she says.
