The national anthem puts students to the test

Singing the national anthem can be an intimidating venture, with its combination of the song’s high notes and the high stress of performing in front of a packed arena. On September 12 and 13, more than 100 students, faculty, and staff bravely belted out the “Star Spangled Banner” at Agganis Arena, vying for a chance to sing at BU’s home games. Notes were missed and words forgotten, but more than enough budding crooners were found to cover this year’s season at the arena. Click to watch the video highs — and lows — of the tryouts.
