Four promising new faculty members recently received a jump-start on the road to recognition in their field when they were named Peter Paul Career Development Professors. The professorships are awarded to faculty in their first two years at the University and each is funded with a $50,000 annual award for three years to support research that the recipient might not otherwise receive the funding to pursue.

Peter Paul (GSM’71), the president of the mortgage banking company Paul Financial, LLC, pledged $1.5 million to establish 10 such professorships over the next five years. The first recipients are Brooke Blower, a College of Arts and Sciences assistant professor of history, Sucharita Chandran, a School of Management assistant professor of marketing, John Connor, a School of Medicine assistant professor of microbiology, and Marah Curtis, a School of Social Work assistant professor of social welfare policy.
