The essay was published on February 12th, 2022, on ‘From the Archivist’s Notebook,’ an online collection of essays revolving around Archival Research in Athens, Greece. In it, Professor Runnels details the relationship between anthropologist Charles Henry Hawes and archaeologist Harriet Ann Boyd, prompted by Runnels’ discovery of a sketchbook he believes might have belonged to Hawes.
