Registration & Enrollment

School of Dental Medicine Policy

Registration

Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (SDM) students are administratively registered.

Postdoctoral students only: Students enrolled in postdoctoral degree, certificate, and nondegree programs are expected to complete and submit a registration form to their academic department annually.

Academic Load

SDM programs are not tracked by unit accumulation but by successful completion of individual courses and duration requirements. For billing and enrollment purposes and due to the lock-step nature of the curriculum, all enrolled SDM students are considered full-time, except when admitted with part-time status or in extenuating circumstances.

Continuous Enrollment

Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD 4-Year and 2-Year Advanced Standing), postdoctoral, and nondegree students must be enrolled each term (fall and spring) until all program requirements have been met, except when on a school-approved leave of absence.

Non-enrollment for more than two (2) consecutive terms (fall and spring) will result in administrative discontinuation from the program. Terms spent on a school-approved leave of absence will not count toward non-enrollment.
