Boston University is committed to providing equal and integrated access for individuals with disabilities to all the academic, social, cultural, and recreational programs we offer. An accessible campus map, provided through the BU Maps system, directs you to accessible parking, curb cuts, and other useful information. It is also constantly updated to reflect the urban and ever-changing nature of the Boston University campus.
The ramp-accessible entrance into 685 Commonwealth Avenue is located in the rear of the building, marked “Tsai Performance Center Guest Entrance.” Once inside, go to the left in the main hallway and take the elevator to the first floor to the marble lobby of the Tsai Center. Please note that all entrances on Commonwealth Avenue have stairs. We can accommodate wheelchair and companion seating in the orchestra section. The lobby elevators can take you to the accessible restrooms on the second floor.
We encourage those with accessibility needs to inform the ticket seller when purchasing tickets. If you are visiting us for one of our free events, please contact the Tsai Box Office, email@example.com, 617-353-8725, prior to your visit to discuss seating options.
Accessible parking is located in the CAS parking lot (directly behind the Tsai Center) at 240 Bay State Road for BU permit holders. For non-BU permit holders, please note that anyone displaying a valid HP/V license plate or placard may park for free at any parking meter within the City of Boston as described under Article IV, Section 4, paragraph 3 of the Traffic Rules and Regulations—City of Boston (July 1, 1999).
Assistive Listening Devices
The Tsai Center is equipped with a limited number of portable digital RF receivers that provide exceptional audio quality. Usage is free of charge to our patrons. Each receiver can be paired with an ear speaker or a neck loop. The neck loop is a deceptively simple looking loop that acts as a wireless connection to hearing aids equipped with a “T” coil. Please see the usher staff to request one of these devices for a performance.
