Overview	Network Time Protocol (NTP) allows computers connected to the campus network to synchronize with the University’s standard time clock.
Available To	Students, Faculty, Researchers, Staff, Departments, Guests
Benefits	Using NTP to synchronize with a central clock makes it easy for you to ensure the accuracy and consistency of timekeeping on servers and desktops throughout your environment. This is particularly important in maintaining accurate time stamps for log messages.
Key Features	Keep your system clock accurate. Enable accurate cross-machine data and event comparisons. Synchronize with a variety of external time sources based on geographic location, clock accuracy, and redundancy of network paths over both the Internet and Internet2.
Requirements	Access to the University’s NTP service requires a properly configured NTP client.
