Taylor Cain graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in the Science in Society Program from Wesleyan University. Her undergraduate focus on gender, sexuality, and the social construction of illness has evolved into an interest in understanding and addressing health disparities within urban communities. Taylor seeks to identify the mechanisms which shape perception and utilization of health and health care amongst youth. Inspired by programs aimed at engaging “at-risk” youth, their families, or other support systems, she hopes to bridge theory and application, and envision strategies that support communities in their effort to foster physical and mental wellness in non-violent spaces.
