Dear Families of Incoming Students,

Your family’s Boston University experience is finally about to begin, and we are so excited to welcome you to our vibrant community!

As you prepare for move-in day, know that Parent & Family Programs is your first point of contact at the University. Please contact us at parents@bu.edu or 617-358-1187, if you have any questions.

Let us help you prepare for this transition with our Know Before You Go series, comprised of five, live webinars introducing you to members of our community who will support, educate, and guide your student. The sessions, held via Zoom at Eastern Time, will be as follows:

  • Getting Started – Monday, December 1, 8-9 am
  • College of General Studies (CGS) – Wednesday, December 3, 5-6 pm
  • Campus Community – Monday, December 8, 8-9 am
  • Health & Wellbeing – Wednesday, December 10, 5-6 pm
  • Sense of Belonging – Monday, December 15, 8-9 am

Please register for each session and we’ll send you the Zoom links. If you are unable to attend – no worries. Every session will be recorded and made available on our website, under the Parent & Family Orientation tab, for you to view at your convenience.

Another great way to stay connected and informed is to join our Terrier Family Network. As a member, you’ll have access to our portal for important updates, a calendar, and news about BU. In addition, you will receive our newsletter to ensure that you have the most up-to-date, accurate information about your student’s college experience.

After you watch our Know Before You Go series and join the Terrier Family Network, you (and in turn your student), will undoubtedly be ready for move-in day and when your student starts their Orientation experience, we’re inviting you to our Winter Welcome Breakfast. Please register in advance to join us and fellow families on Friday, January 16, at 10 am.

We look forward to connecting with you this winter!

Warm wishes,
