The ERC provides academic support programs to the Boston University
community. We work with students across colleges and disciplines,
helping them meet their academic goals and excel in their studies.
The ERC offers Peer Tutoring,
the Writing Center, Language
Link conversation groups, Organic
Chemistry Preparatory Course (Orgo Prep), Workshops, and the Contingent Aid Program.
The ERC professional staff is also available to meet with students
individually to develop a personalized plan for academic success
and/or to assist them in developing specific skills. These services
are free and can benefit all students who are interested in improving
their academic performance. In addition, the ERC manages the Freshman
and Transfer Resource Advisor Program for the College of Arts
and Sciences (CAS).
Our hours of operation for January 2nd through January 15th, 2008 are 9am-5pm.
We are open 7 days a week
during the academic year:
- Monday-Thursday 9am-10pm,
- Friday 9am-5pm,
- Saturday 11am-5pm, and
- Sunday noon-10pm.
The ERC summer hours are
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. We are open for tutoring and Writing Center
appointments during summer sessions I and II. The ERC is closed during Winter Intersession.

CAS Forum and ERC Present Coffee @ Finals!
ERC tutors will be available from 8pm-11pm on Monday, May 5th through Thursday, May8th in CAS Room 319. This is a free program to BU students (and the food will be available up until 2am!). Subjects covered on most nights: Biology, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics. COME JOIN US!!
Schedule Reminder: The ERC's Spring Final Hours are: Tuesday - Thursday (May 6th - 8th), 9am-10pm, Friday, May 9th, 9am-5pm, Closed Saturday and Sunday (May 10th and 11th), and Monday & Tuesday, (May 12th and 13th), 9am-5pm.
Please note; The last day to request a peer tutor is Friday, April 11, 2008. This date reflects 3 weeks prior to the last day of classes (May 1, 2008) and therefore, complies with our peer tutoring guidelines.
If you are interested in becoming a tutor for the 2008-2009 academic year, you may submit a tutor application and faculty recommendation now. Prior to completing the application, please visit and review the frequently asked questions about the position. We will contact you in the fall as to the status of your application.
Please Note: The ERC will generally not hire seniors who plan to graduate in May, 2009.
