Welcoming Fall 2026 from the BUWG President Suzanne Maselli

Welcoming a Year of Connection, Belonging, and Community

Suzanne Maselli, BUWG President

Together with our honorary president, Kamrhan Farwell, BU Women’s Guild board, committee chairs and members, I would like to welcome you to an exciting academic year of programming hosted by the BU Women’s Guild. Our events exemplify the spirit and mission of the Guild, fostering connection, belonging, community and friendship.

Our kickoff event, Dress for Success, Sustainably, on September 15 was a perfect example, with members and guests generously donating professional clothing for our students.

A networking event at the School of Medicine on October 2, hosted by our Women of Color Circle, will create meaningful connections between faculty and staff.

The annual newcomer’s luncheon, hosted by the Office of the President on October 21 at the Howard Thurman Center, will welcome all new university employees featuring a presentation by Dr. Ann McKee, director of BU’s Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center.

Ria Shah (SAR ’27), President of BU Campus Closet, and Kailey Correa (COM, CAS ’27), Head of Media for BU Campus Closet, present at Dress for Success networking event on September 15, 2026.

And stay tuned for programming throughout the fall semester designed to celebrate all that our colleagues contribute to the well-being of students, staff and faculty at BU.

If you are not already a member, I invite you to join us in celebrating the intellectual, scholarly, and professional contributions of women across BU. By becoming a member of the Guild, you also support meaningful initiatives like subsidized housing for BU graduate students—just one example of how we invest in the next generation of leaders. And if you are a member, thank you. A great way to enhance your membership is by joining one of our committees, such as membership, communications, programming or Fisk House.

Please feel free to email me at smaselli@bu.edu, or reach out to any one of our committee chairs at an upcoming event.

I look forward to seeing you soon!
