Networking Workshop
Professional networking skills are core competencies required to advance your career, build relationships and learn from others. Reaching out to other professionals allows you to build your personal brand and expand your sphere of influence. The goal of today’s workshop is to offer strategies and techniques for successful professional networking and to provide participants with an opportunity to practice those techniques with members of the BU Women’s Guild.
The workshop presenters are Michael Ouellette (Associate Director, Alumni Career Engagement, BU Development and Alumni Relations) and Colby Sim (Associate Director, Center for Career Development.)

Michael Ouellette
Associate Director, Alumni Career Engagement, BU Development and Alumni Relations
As Associate Director of Alumni Career Engagement, Michael develops resources and programs to support networking and career development opportunities for the entire BU alumni community. Previously, Michael was the Associate Director of BU’s Study Abroad Los Angeles Program, where he ran student advising and employer engagement for careers in the media, entertainment, and tech industries. Michael holds a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an EdM in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies: Higher Education Administration from the BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development.
Colby Sim
Associate Director, Center for Career Development
Colby leads the Career Communities strategy at the Center for Career Development to support and advance the career interests and outcomes of the BU community. She also supports the Career Ambassador Program and focuses on fostering student engagement with career services through student-led programs and peer education initiatives. Colby received her Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Community Studies from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University.
