Information Services & Technology will be hosting our second Technology Fair on Monday, April 4 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in George Sherman Union’s (GSU) Metcalf Hall.

This free event, open to faculty, staff and students, is focused on helping the BU community discover, learn about and get the most from technology services available through IS&T. BU technology experts and vendors will be on hand to answer any of your tech questions. Whether you want to register your laptop with BUPD, recycle your old batteries and ink cartridges with Sustainability or meet with a member of the IT Help Center, the 2016 Tech Fair will have something for everyone:

  • Faculty will have the opportunity to learn more about lecture capture and other technologies currently in classrooms as well as the chance to meet with educational technologists and staff from Research Computing.
  • Students will get the chance to learn more about survey software and how to use it, and speak with Information Security staff on how to encrypt data.
  • Staff will be able to learn about what’s new in BUworks, learn more about disk encryption, Office 365, the Academic Data Warehouse, BU’s phone system upgrade and new training opportunities offered by IS&T.

In additional to the great learning opportunities, the fair is offering some great giveaways. Members of the BU Community that check-in upon arrival will be eligible to win one of a number of prizes, including an Apple Watch, iPad mini, Android Tablet, bluetooth speakers, headphones, Pebble smartwatch and more!
