TT_PhilI am a Technology Specialist III working with the Learning & Event Technology (LETS) group within the IT Help Center.

LETS supports clients in classrooms, meeting and event spaces across the Charles River Campus and our main objective is simple:

PROVIDE EXTRAORDINARY CUSTOMER SERVICE!

We support, maintain, and service all Office of the University Registrar classrooms, and in special situations, some proprietary spaces as well. With regards to events, we provide technology and audio/visual support for anything from video recording a lecture in a small event space, to a full production with livestreaming capability in the GSU Ballrooms or the Trustee Center Ballroom. Behind the scenes, we service, replace and repair any and all audio-visual (AV) technology that is needed throughout the campus including design and consultation of AV programs for new construction projects like the CILSE building and the theater project.

I came to BU in 2015 with over 8 years of experience in the AV world, where I worked on a freelance basis for a handful of companies. This allowed me to travel the country extensively and provide support as an Audio Specialist for companies like Pfizer, Red Hat, Google, GE, and more. Working for these companies required the ability to provide the highest level of customer service and to quickly build interpersonal relationships. Being born and raised in a culturally diverse environment like St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, made communicating with different personalities very easy for me.

A couple of cool facts about me:
I have a dual degree from Berklee College of Music and I produced music full time for about 3 years until my daughter was born prematurely in 2013 over three months early. I then took time off from music to focus on my family and whatever it takes to make sure my little girl catches up to where she needs to be. When that time comes, then we’ll see where the road will lead in terms of me getting back fully into the music business.

I’ve worked with and produced music for major R&B artists such as Keyshia Cole and Blu Cantrell and over other 20 independent artists. I’ve also had music featured on TV shows like “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and the “Bad Girls Club”. My most recent project is having music in an independent movie entitled, “Making Moves”.
