Integration Services provide solutions for university-wide data and application integration. Services include data interfaces among applications both on campus and hosted externally (SaaS/Cloud), data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL), data synchronization, data provisioning, data migration, and data cleansing.

Integration Services leverages two platforms, SnapLogic and Informatica, for providing application and information integrations which support data standardization, controlled data movement processes, data security, and interfacing or sharing of data across a variety of services and applications throughout the University.

Snaplogic is an integration platform as a service (iPaaS). It is focused on the development of application and data integrations leveraging standard integration techniques such as extract, transform and load (ETL), web services, API Management, data hubs, and common data models. Integrations are supported regardless of the endpoints being in the cloud or on campus. The nature of these services can be one-time data conversion/migrations, regularly scheduled data interfaces or real time API calls to or from various endpoints.

Informatica continues to support applications that have more complex ETL needs. These applications include student enrollment statistics for Institutional Research, SAP, Transportation, Library services, and Academic Data Warehouse.

Benefits

Integration Services allows for disparate systems to function together as one and adds value by simplifying and automating business processes. Data integration ensures that information in these diverse systems and applications is kept consistent while reducing vendor reliance. Snaplogic has the addition benefit of being a cloud service. Known as integration platform as a service (iPaaS), Snaplogic helps overcome the challenges in establishing an integrated platform that matches the flexibility of cloud applications. In addition to the Snaplogic platform, Amazon web services (AWS) is leveraged for peripheral components that support a central data hub along with monitoring, metrics, error handling and QoS capabilities. Connectivity is transparent to applications regardless of the system or service location.
