Dr. Frederick Osman has over 30 years’ experience in education and management at the tertiary and secondary levels. Have managed and undertaken projects independently and cross functionally across the education, community and industry sectors.

Recognised as Fellow and President of the Australian College of Educators and Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales for outstanding leadership in the tertiary and secondary education sectors. Have also been NSW Chair of the Australian Institute of Physics and contributed to physics roles for the past 20 years including Scientific Meeting Organiser from 2001, Chair from 2008-2010 and 2018-2019, Secretary from 2011-2017 and 2020-2024. Currently serving as Chair of NSW Training Awards from 2017 and President and Fellow of the Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales from 2016.

Policy development roles at School, College and University levels have included academic curriculum, grading, program development, accreditation, strategic planning, evaluation policies and processes for local and International students. As a member of numerous external governance committees, have played a key role in developing plans with communities in the Greater Western Sydney and beyond. This has included to lead strategic and business planning processes, liaise with stakeholders in organising major conferences, education forums, workshops, awards functions and educational industry network forums, that have been a catalyst for successful partnerships and community involvement.

His doctorate is in the field of Plasma Physics, Laser Fusion and Nonlinear Optics. He has taught in the Schools of Science and Quantitative Methods and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Western Sydney for over a decade. During this time, he has developed a passion for linking university physics with industry, leading to a growing interest and involvement in Vocational Education in his subsequent 13 years at Trinity Grammar School he has been able to explore the practical synergies of vocational and academic education. Managed the development and operation of the Trinity Grammar School Registered Training Organisation and Enterprise Careers Education programme, to assist students seeking to undertake practical subjects within the senior secondary curriculum.

Currently managing the development and operation of the academic responsibilities for ensuring the effective operation of all programs as the Associate Director (Academic) with Boston University Study Abroad Sydney Program.
