Manya Jain
Resident Sustainability Leader
Why I became an RSL:
I’ve always been drawn to nature, whether I’m scuba diving through coral reefs, swimming with sharks, or hiking at 15,000 feet elevation just to see a valley of wildflowers. That love for the outdoors shaped my desire to protect it, which led me to start The Green Dream and share climate stories through my blog, Carbon Cloud. I became an RSL to bring that same passion to BU’s campus. The passion to help students see that sustainability isn’t just a responsibility; it’s something beautiful, personal, and worth fighting for.
What I hope to accomplish:
This year, I want to make sustainability feel less like a rule and more like a rhythm. Something that naturally becomes part of everyday life in the dorms. I hope to create a sense of connection and curiosity around sustainable habits through creative outreach, hands-on workshops, and collaborations with different corners of campus life. My goal is to help build a community where sustainability feels engaging and woven into how we live, rather than an extra task on a checklist.
