Susilo 2018 Symposium
Sustainability under Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Practitioners and Academics
The Susilo Institute is pleased to announce that the third annual Susilo Symposium will be held on June 8-10, 2018, in Beijing, China.
The symposium will be hosted by the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University from June 8-10, 2018. It will continue the tradition begun at the inaugural symposium in May 2016 in Surabaya, Indonesia, which featured foremost business, academic, and political leaders reflecting on “Global Business Ethics – East Meets West.”
Program Theme
The theme of the Tsinghua-based Symposium is “Sustainability under Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Practitioners and Academics.” It will emphasize the global business ethics implications of sustainability issues, with a particular focus on China. Over the past decades, China has made remarkable achievements in both economic and social developments and delivered successfully on her commitments to the UN Millennium Development Goals.
Keynotes, Panels and Site Visits
The 2018 Susilo Symposium will be directed specifically toward both academics and practitioners. It will feature practitioner and academic keynotes, a broad range of concurrent sessions and panels, and special-access site visits showcasing the interplay of sustainability and business ethics in China.
Call for Papers (Deadline: December 15, 2017)
We enthusiastically invite you to submit a proposal (in Chinese or English) of your original and unpublished research paper to echo with the symposium theme. In particular, we welcome submissions focusing on the following areas:

- New practices in the field on managing sustainability (e.g., organization level, country level, etc.)
- How do organizations align different stakeholders’ interests with their business philosophy to achieve sustainability?

Studies on sustainability, global ethics, and corporate responsibilities in general are also welcome.
