Third Annual Susilo Business+Ethics Case Competition, Sao Paulo, Brazil

The Boston University Questrom School of Business Susilo Institute for Ethics in the Global Economy hosted the Third Annual Susilo Business+Ethics Case Competition in São Paulo, Brazil, from May 25–27.

Six finalist teams representing universities from around the world gathered to compete in a unique and mission-driven event that challenged students to apply ethical business leadership to complex global issues.

In a meaningful evolution of the competition, this year’s winning teams directed prize funding to the Brazilian charities of their choice, transforming the competition from a traditional awards-based model into an opportunity for real and immediate community impact. Rather than competing for personal gain, participants competed to support organizations making a difference on the ground in Brazil — reinforcing the Institute’s commitment to ethical leadership, social responsibility, and global engagement.

Congrats to all six finalists – from Vilnius University Business School in Lithuania, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, University of Lagos in Nigeria, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Boston University and Georgia Institute of Technology. Students from Georgia came in first place (Analysse Humaran, Mary Romano, Natanel Ha and Keerthi Padmanabhan), Ireland came in second place (Emma Williams, Andrew Brennan, Cameron Casey, Eric Grelet, Conal O’Gara) and BU third place (Akshaya Neerudu, Amanda Duan, Sakhi Gupta and Tvisha Jerath).
