Submit Official Transcripts

To complete your admissions process, we are required to collect your official transcript showing proof of graduation from the institution where you earned your undergraduate degree.

If you uploaded documents into our application system (rather than having them submitted by your university or college), they are not considered official. We ask that you submit your official transcript(s) by the date outlined in your decision letter. If this process is not completed by the deadline, the Registrar’s Office may place a hold on your account and you will not have access to register for future courses.

There are two ways to send us your transcript(s):

Option 1: Send it via your University’s electronic transcript service to busswad@bu.edu

This is the most efficient way to submit your official documents. Please make sure that your university’s electronic transcript service does not default to an incorrect BU email address. Transcripts sent to other email addresses will NOT be received by BUSSW.

OR

Option 2: Request to have an official copy mailed to the following address:

Boston University School of Social Work

Admissions & Financial Aid Office

264 Bay State Road

Boston, MA 02215

To ensure that your official transcripts are received by the deadline, we recommend ordering them as early as possible. Electronic transcript orders may take up to one week to process and should be sent to our email address. For mailed transcripts, we recommend ordering a month prior to the deadline, as there may be delays in processing due to the high volume of mail we receive.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact us directly at busswad@bu.edu
