PhD Candidate Mohit Tamta Recognized for Research

Mohit Tamta, doctoral candidate at Boston University School of Social Work

Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) doctoral candidate Mohit Tamta, who focuses on cross-national research on housing insecurity, urban poverty, and health disparities among marginalized communities in India and the United States, was recently featured in the South Asian Social Work Educators Association (SASWEA) Fall 2025 Newsletter, which was showcased during this year’s Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Annual Program Meeting in Denver. 

Tamta’s feature included a special focus on his dissertation, Unveiling Dalit Perspectives. 

Tamta’s work exemplifies BUSSW’s growing global presence and ongoing commitment to advancing equity, justice, and community-engaged research.
