Winter Demo Day: Fellows Gallery

Winter Demo Day was a success! Around 70 supporters attended, 17 Spark! teams competed, and 31 mentors and partners made it happen. Various groups from Spark!’s eXperience Lab (X-Lab) Practicum course and students from the Spark! Innovation Fellowship showcased their projects during Demo Day and all teams participated for prizes during the pitch session of the evening. Best Technical Implementation Award: POOL

Team: Jade Sessions (CAS ‘19) & Aditi Sharma (MFA ‘19)

Pool is a mobile application that allows users to buy, return, and watch event tickets without the fear of scalping. Through the concept of a central ticket pool and unreproducible tickets, users are guaranteed to buy tickets at its original price.


Best Idea Award: Emu

Team: Brooke Mullen (CAS ‘19), David Braunstein  (CAS ‘19). Sarah Lucca (CAS ‘19), and Maureen Burns (CFA ‘20)

Emu is an online platform where users can publicly post their resumes and receive critique from others. Need to improve your resume? Emu is here to help. Simply upload your resume and receive valuable critique from fellow Emu users. Give back by commenting on resumes posted by your friends and other students in your field!


Polish Award: Holdette

Team: Sarah Gresidorf (CAS ‘21), Curtis Mason (CAS ‘21), Yufei Weng (MFA ‘19)

Holdette is an online curation of women’s clothing with functional pockets. We aim to empower women by sourcing clothing that can keep up with them so they can make the most out of every day. Check out Holdette at www.holdette.com and sign-up!

An integrated platform that streamlines the process of setting up group study sessions and course communication for college students.


Dash Buddy

Team: Cedric Wille, (CAS ‘20), Vincent Ng’aru (MFA ‘19), Filip Vukelic (CAS)

Dash Buddy is an app that records driving for liability purposes as well as employing a machine learning algorithm to attempt to predict and warn for an impending accident by using image recognition.


Juriscape

Team: Sydney Gullett (CAS ‘20), Grace Colbert (CFA ‘19), Takamitsu Shirono (CAS ’21)

Juriscape is a web application that informs and advises people of their legal rights and options in a spectrum of varying traffic stop scenarios. The application equips people with the necessary tools to increase their autonomy and take even more control of their own livelihoods.


Sigma Tau

Team: Leo McGann (CAS ‘20), Gaspard Etienne (CAS ‘20), Maren Corrigan (CAS ‘20)

Physicist Creator is a physics education software with a focus on astrophysics. The application will exist as supplemental material for high school-early college level students.


InnTech

Team: Harsh Patel (CAS ‘19), Chinwe Oparaji (CFA ‘21), Hariharan Mathavan (CAS ‘19)

InnTech is a hotel check in Kiosk/LockerBox for fast and efficient hotel check in. This is convenient for travelers since they won’t have to wait in long lines and this is great for front desk staff since it allows them to focus on other hotel tasks.


WinWin

Team: Michael Henrick (CAS ‘20) & Zachary Halvorson (ENG ‘20)

WinWin connects college students to others in the same course to set up times to study and review information.


Trippy

Team: Kevin Xia (CAS ‘19), Namhee Kwak (CFA ‘18, MEd ‘19), Sirivadhna Kamoltat (CAS ‘20)

Trippy is a holistic itinerary planning application. The idea is that users can plan out all aspects of their trip for a smoother process and vacation.


Follow Through

Team: Sameer Chaturvedi (CAS ‘21) & Yinxuan Feng (CAS ‘21)

Follow Through is an app helps basketball players improve skills by fixing their mechanics. It allows you to compare your skills (shots, layups, etc.) with those of NBA players through video analysis.
