Recovery Program Assistant
The two Recovery Program Assistants will connect with BU students in recovery, coordinate meetings and events for the BU Recovery Community (BURC), and support the promotion of recovery at BU.
At its core, the BU Recovery Community connects BU students who understand the challenges and joys of recovery. BURC members connect at BU recovery meetings, social gatherings, and more.
Eligibility requirements:
Enrolled in an academic program at Boston University
Opportunities include:
- Serving as a contact for students interested in the BURC
- Planning, promoting, and attending BURC events
- Facilitating BURC meetings or other recovery-related activities
- Assisting with program development for the BURC
- Supporting the promotion of recovery in the BU community
An ideal candidate will have:
- Lived experience as a person in recovery from substance use
- Passion for service in the recovery community
- Enthusiasm to build relationships and collaborate with others
- Excitement for sharing innovative ideas
- Motivation to work independently
Compensation and Time Commitment:
- Hourly paid position at $17.50/hr
- Approximately 6 hrs/wk through the 26-27 academic year
- There are no tuition benefits
