Peer Education Program Assistant
The Peer Education Program Assistant supports the Student Health Ambassadors program in mentorship, recruitment, training, and administrative coordination.
Eligibility requirements:
Incoming or continuing student enrolled in a graduate program at Boston University.
Opportunities include:
- Support Student Health Ambassadors (SHA) program management and coordination, including:
- Committee activities and projects
- Trainings led by SHS staff and other campus partners
- Social and service events
- Recruitment of SHAs
- Evaluation of SHA program
- Assist with strategic planning efforts with the SHA program
- Collaborate with SHS departments and campus partners on programming and educational initiatives
- Assist with campus outreach events
- Assist with general office administration including email correspondence and maintenance, inventory tracking
An ideal candidate will have:
- Experience mentoring, advising, or supervising young adults
- Experience with peer education groups or models
- Strong skills in project management, communication, and collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, problem-solve, and make well-informed decisions
- Experience incorporating concepts of diversity, inclusion, and social justice in health promotion
Time commitment:
- This position will be in person for 2025-2026 academic year, with potential for virtual onboarding
- Approximately 15 hours per week beginning in August 11, 2025 and ending in May 2025, with the potential to extend to the following academic year
- Be available to attend and support SHA training on September 5 & 6, 2025
- Required to work Friday afternoons from 2-4 PM during the academic year
- May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends
Compensation:
- $17.50/hour for 15 hours per week
- There are no tuition benefits
