Leslie Caiola

Leslie Caiola is a licensed, registered dietitian nutritionist with a Master of Science in Nutrition from Boston University. She completed her training at Boston Medical Center, and joined the SCNC in 2021, previously supporting the team as center coordinator since 2016.

At Boston University, Leslie supervises and mentors graduate nutrition students during their practicum or dietetic internship at the SCNC. She collaborates with colleague Sara Yen in planning and coordinating clinical supervision opportunities.

As a nutritionist at BU, Leslie provides individual counseling with clinical interests including eating disorders and disordered eating, weight-related concerns, risk factors for chronic disease such as prediabetes, elevated cholesterol, high blood pressure, other chronic conditions, as well as general nutrition and meal planning. She helps clients achieve their nutrition goals by identifying sustainable eating habits tailored to their preferences, routines, budgets, and lifestyles. Using evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and behavior change strategies, she creates a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

Leslie helps train and supervise the Sargent Choice Ambassadors, a team of students who act as liaisons between Dining Services and the Sargent Choice Nutrition Center to promote the  Sargent Choice Healthy Food and Education.  Leslie also provides trainings to all students requiring access to the gluten and nut-free pantries on campus.

Leslie teaches Healthy Cooking on a Budget, a one-credit course offered to Boston University students.where students learn nutrition concepts, meal preparation, and cost-effective ingredient selection and food waste reduction. Leslie also provides cooking demonstrations, seminars, and workshops at Boston University.
