From Qazvin, Iran, Tina Malekinia is a PhD candidate in the Department of Romance Studies at Boston University. She received her BA in French Language & Literature and her MA in French Translation. Her research interests encompass 19th and 20th-century Francophone Comparative Literature, with a broad focus on interdisciplinary studies that bridge literary forms and other visual representations, such as cinema, painting, and engraving. Tina is particularly intrigued by the intersection of ‘image’ with literature, a concept that varies across different writers and artists. Additionally, she has a keen interest in Psychoanalysis, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, as well as philosophy.

Beyond academia, Tina is passionate about teaching French and sharing her adoration for French culture and literature with others. She brings 8 years of experience in teaching French. Tina hopes to translate her works into Persian, introducing them to Persian readers, and eventually work as a university professor.
