Laurie Mar Garriga is an educator, researcher, and columnist. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and academic and cultural publications, including those affiliated with the Biblioteca Nacional de España, the Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española, Revista La Torre, and Puerto Rico Review, among others. She received her PhD in Hispanic Language and Literatures from Boston University. She is a co-founder and a contributor to En Reserva, a cultural column in Claridad newspaper. Her academic and personal interests include Transatlantic Studies; archives and exile; migration and cultural production; Latin American poetry; Puerto Rico; contemporary Spanish audiovisual culture; and Puerto Rican comics and illustration.
