Graduate Student in French

Fargol Khosravani is a PhD candidate in French literature at Boston University, working under the direction of Professor Jennifer Cazenave. Her research interests include 20th and 21st-century French literature and cinema, gender studies, trauma and archives, particularly focusing on non-fiction and testimonial works. She examines how these works serve as powerful means of bearing witness to the traumatic histories of violence against women and explores their role in challenging cultural narratives of shame in the #MeToo era.

Prior to joining BU, Fargol earned her BA in French Language with a focus on translation. She also holds an MA in French Literature, where her thesis centered on the 19th century and explored works of George Sand and Alfred de Musset.
