Senior Lecturer in Spanish

Background

Borja Ruiz de Arbulo has been teaching all levels of Spanish at Boston University since 2014. He is originally from northern Spain, where he received his BA in English from the University of the Basque Country (Vitoria) in 2007. After working as an ESL teacher right after college, he pursued his graduate studies at Purdue University, Indiana, where he obtained his MA in Spanish Applied Linguistics in 2010. He then moved on to teach Spanish Language and Culture courses at Black Hills State University in South Dakota, and Saginaw Valley State University, in Michigan. Since joining BU, Borja has been deeply involved in distance learning projects, having participated in a MOOC for AP Spanish in 2016, and a flipped Introductory Spanish course in 2017. He launched his first full  online Spanish course at BU in the summer of 2018. In his free time, Borja likes to travel, draw, and spend time with his family and friends.
