Garriga Presents at NeMLA
Laurie Garriga, doctoral student in our Hispanic Language & Literatures program, presented at the 2020 Northeast Modern Language Association annual conference, as part of a roundtable on women as artistic creators.
Garriga’s presentation was tiled “Isla ilustrada, tres artistas puertorriqueñas en Instagram,” and focused on the work of three illustrators from Puerto Rico who challenge the skewed media reporting of disaster journalism in their art.
