Burgon Pens Review of Lesueur Book

Haleigh Burgon, a student in our French PhD program, has recently published a book review. Haleigh tells us:
“I’m thrilled to share that my latest book review has just been published in the journal Nineteenth-Century French Studies! The volume I reviewed—Introduction à l’œuvre de Daniel Lesueur: “Conscience féminine élève la voix!” by Diana Holmes and Martine Reid—spotlights the bold, brilliant, and too-often-overlooked author Daniel Lesueur (aka Jeanne Loiseau Lapauze). With over forty novels, poems, and essays to her name, Lesueur delicately and stealthily carved out space for feminist voices in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and this book is a beautiful tribute to her legacy.”
