Cazenave Presents in Rwanda

In late February, Odile Cazenave, Professor of French, was invited to be part of “Rencontres Nyirarumaga des littératures africaines,” a three-day literary event with writers and poets in Kigali, Rwanda, discussing testimonies/testimonial narratives and resilience with writers and survivors. Also discussed was the duty of memory and genocide prevention and what literature can do in that regard.

This was the first of a series of events to commemorate the 30-year anniversary of the 1994 genocide against Tutsis in Rwanda and took place at the Genocide Memorial in Kigali and the City Hall.
