Ramon Areces Fellowship

The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) is pleased to announce the creation of the Ramón Areces Fellowship. This new fellowship is made possible through a generous gift by the Ramón Areces Foundation to enable outstanding post-doctoral, early-career stage Spanish scholars to undertake research in-residence at CES for one academic year starting in September 2023.

One Fellowship will be awarded annually, and will include a $65,000 stipend for a 10-month stay, one roundtrip economy class air-ticket to Boston, as well as funds to help defray some of the costs of childcare and health insurance costs. Accepted scholars will participate in the Center’s Visiting Scholars Program and present their research at the New Research on Europe Seminar.

Qualified candidates can submit applications through February 24, 2023; detailed requirements and information can be found at the link below.

Based in Madrid, the Ramón Areces Foundation was established in 1976 to provide research and learning opportunities for Spanish citizens and to support initiatives that advance solutions to societal challenges in the realms of science, education, culture, and economics.
