Gerardo Cruz Publishes Article
Doctoral student Gerardo Cruz-Gunnerth explores the literary frontier between human and animal in an newly published article on Julio Cortázar’s “Axolotl” in the volume Autres Modernités, from the University of Milán. Cruz takes a new approach to Cortázar’s short story, after pointing out that his fiction expresses the animal question on many occasions, exposing their perception of time, space and visual field. “Axolotl” is “crucial” evidence of Cortázar’s search to “confront the anthropological machine.”
