Guerrero Peirano Wins Literary Prize
Alumna Victoria Guerrero Peirano has won Peru’s 2020 National Prize for Literature, in the non-fiction category.
Guerrero won for her book Y la muerte no tendrá dominio (And Death Will Not Have Dominion), a narration and reflection on a painful and traumatic event in the author’s life: the death of her mother. The book provides a multi-faceted exploration of this event, examining not only the personal experience but als0 investigating familial, societal, and philosophical dimensions.
Victoria Guerrero is a poet, editor, and researcher in Peru. She graduated from BU with a PhD in Hispanic Language & Literature in 2008.
