RS Lecturers Aid in Developing Remote Instruction

Over the summer, a number of Romance Studies lecturers volunteered for a faculty workgroup with the goal of supporting remote instruction across BU’s language programs, for summer 2020 and beyond. The group, composed of faculty from Romance Studies and World Languages & Literatures, worked to develop comprehensive and effective pedagogical strategies for remote language instruction.

From CAS News:

“Their work over the summer has included a research- and practice-driven clearinghouse, ad hoc training sessions about ed-tech, multiple faculty discussions, and a rethinking of the Geddes Mini-Grants Program to align with Learn from Anywhere needs. Volunteers are now collaborating with Faculty Coaches in several CAS Departments to extend the reach of pedagogical support throughout the upcoming semesters.”

The volunteers from Romance Studies were:

  • Laura Brusetti-McGinn, Senior Lecturer in Italian
  • Alison Carberry, Senior Lecturer in Spanish
  • Kirby Chazal, Senior Lecturer in French
  • Borja Ruiz de Arbulo, Senior Lecturer in Spanish

Great work, all of you!
