Keenan Wins GRS Teaching Award
Kelly Keenan, doctoral student in French Language & Literature, has won a Graduate School of Arts & Sciences Teaching Fellow of the Year award. Congratulations, Kelly!
In nominating Kelly, Kate Lakin-Schultz, overall coordinator of the French language program, wrote of Kelly:
“From the beginning of her time as a teaching fellow in the Department of Romance Studies, Kelly Keenan has shown great promise as an instructor of French. She has a natural aptitude for teaching and was able to learn quickly and adapt to her role in the classroom. She has taught at all levels of French language from first to fourth semester and has been excellent at all levels of student proficiency. She has been chosen to teach an advanced LF308 (Film and Media) course of her own design for Fall 2020 and we look forward to seeing how she can adapt her scholarly interests in French film into the language classroom as she creates her own syllabus and material. She is likewise a generous colleague and is always ready to collaborate and share with the team of instructors with whom she is working. She is always present at course coordination meetings and comes prepared with feedback on course design and curriculum. We are thrilled to nominate Kelly Keenan for this award as her teaching ability and collegiately is exemplary and should be recognized at this high level.”
