Cristina Onesta’s LI 112 class had a special virtual guest last week – Chiara Durazzini, who spoke with them about Commedia dell’Arte masks. Chiara specializes in Comemdia dell’Arte theatre and delivers many workshops on the topic in the Boston area.

Onesta tells us:

“In my LI 112 we were talking about Italian traditions and festivities, including Carneval. I thus invited Chiara Durazzini, founder of Pazzi Lazzi troupe, to give us a virtual workshop on Commedia dell’Arte. Students had fun trying the movements and posture of the main Comedia Dell’Arte characters while learning its history and connections with today’s Italy. They were able to interact with Chiara during the whole class thus practicing their Italian… and also stretching their legs like Arlecchino!”
