Renato Camurri is Professor of History of Contemporary Europe at the University of Verona. His most recent research focuses on the study of intellectual exile and of cultural migrations from Europe to the United States between the two world wars. He has been a visiting fellow at various American scientific and academic institutions, including Harvard University. Among the most recent works on this area of research are the volume Franco Modigliani. L’Italia vista dall’America. Riflessioni e battaglie di un esule (Franco Modigliani. Italy seen from America. Reflections and Battles of an Exile, 2010), the monographic issue of the «Journal of Modern Italian Studies»  Mussolini’s Gifts. Exiles from Fascist Italy (2010), the volume Max Ascoli: Antifascista, intellettuale, giornalista (Max Ascoli: Antifascist, Intellectual, Journalist, 2012), and Lettere americane (1927-1949) di Gaetano Salvemini (American Letters by Gaetano Salvemini, 2015). Camurri is one of the founders and coordinators of the annual Gaetano Salvemini Colloquium in Italian History and Culture at Harvard University.
