Tino Villanueva at Longfellow House
Romance Studies’ own Tino Villanueva, who retired from teaching Spanish here in 2015, will be giving a poetry reading for the National Park Service at the Longfellow House, Cambridge, on Sunday, August 21 at 3 pm, together with poet, scholar, and translator from Yiddish Kathryn Hellerstein. They will read poems in Spanish, English and Yiddish on the lawn of one of the earliest Americans to enjoy and translate Spanish and Spanish American poetry. Tino is the author of seven books of poetry and the winner of an American Book Award. His latest collection is So Spoke Penelope. The event will help celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary.
