Professor Rodrigo Lopes de Barros: recipient of the LASA Award of Merit in Film

Congratulations to Professor Rodrigo Lopes de Barros who received the LASA Award of Merit in Film!

The Latin American Studies Association is the largest professional association in the field. The 2016 congress will celebrate the 50 years of LASA and will take place in NY from May 27 to May 30. More than 5500 researchers are expected to attend and participate in more than 1500 sessions.

The LASA Congress also holds the LASA Film Festival, which selects a very limited number of recent films from Latin America. Those films compete for the LASA Award Merit in Film. Professor Rodrigo Lopes de Barros was awarded the prize through his most recent documentary “Chacal: Proibido Fazer Poesia”.
