The Boston University Residential Experience

The Boston University Residential Experience (BURE) bridges the academic experience from inside the classroom to the residence halls on our University’s Charles River Campus. The Residential Experience model facilitates student learning on campus by quantifying three goals:

Communication: Students will develop proficiency in communicating clearly and and advocating for their needs in a respectful manner.

Diversity, Engagement, & Global Citizenship: Students will develop skills that allow them to engage in a diverse community and recognize their responsibility to interact as citizens in an interconnected world.

Individual & Interpersonal Competence: Students will develop the capability to think critically, live independently, and collaborate with others.

These goals are the foundation for all of our events, processes, and departmental strategies. Through the Boston University Residential Experience, we endeavor to raise the quality of our students’ time at Boston University.
