Graduate Residence Life Program

Residence Life Office

Your Residence Life office is located at 25 Buick Street, Suite 131; the office telephone number is 617-353-3540. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm, weekdays. During all other times, Residence Life staff are on-call to assist with urgent matters. Contact information for the Graduate Housing Assistant (GHA) on-call is always posted in the lobby of your hall. Scott Kohen serves as your Area Director for Graduate Residence Life.

Graduate Housing Assistants (GHAs)

Your GHA is a source of information and guidance. Your GHA will also be drawing your attention to ways you can participate in programs and events offered to BU graduate students, should that be an interest of yours.

Keep your door locked

For your safety, remember to lock your apartment/room door when you are asleep or out of the apartment/room, even for a few minutes. Inform your Residence Life office or the GHA on-call of any lock defects or lost keys as soon as possible.

If you see something, say something. Immediately report any emergencies, crime, medical emergencies, suspicious activities, fires, or other hazards on campus to the Boston University Police Department at (617) 353-2121.

Boston University Lifebook

The Boston University Lifebook, which is available at http://www.bu.edu/lifebook, contains a great deal of important information about on-campus life, including non-academic policies. For details about house rules in the graduate student residences, please visit the Graduate Housing section of the Residence Life website.

Lost or damaged property

There may be isolated incidents when your personal property is damaged or lost while living and learning on campus. Examples include, but are not limited to, water leaks, fire, smoke, theft, mysterious disappearance, equipment or mechanical failure (e.g., refrigerator), and electrical surge or power outage. Consistent with other colleges and universities, Boston University’s property insurance program does not cover or insure students’ personal property for loss or damage while on campus. Every resident is encouraged to carry adequate personal property insurance (renters or homeowners) to cover loss or damage to their personal property. Should you have any questions or like further assistance, please contact Risk Management at (617) 353-3020 or riskhelp@bu.edu
