Executive Director, Intellectual Property & Licensing

Dr. Harrison joined the Office of Technology Development as Executive Director of IP and Licensing in April 2026.  Dr. Harrison is an experienced intellectual property and licensing attorney with a strong background in biotechnology, clinical-stage therapeutics, and research commercialization.

Prior to joining BU, Dr. Harrison was advising biotech startups as a consulting IP and contracts attorney, and served as a contract consulting IP and licensing specialist for Los Alamos National Laboratory.  Dr. Harrison has served as Head of Legal for OncXerna Therapeutics, and as Senior Counsel at Seres Therapeutics.

Dr. Harrison has also held academic appointments at Boston Biomedical Research Institute and Tufts University, where she used X-ray crystallography and other biophysical techniques to study protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions in a variety of biological systems, and received several NIH grants.

Dr. Harrison holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University, a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biology, and a JD from Boston College Law School.  Dr. Harrison is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney.
