The Financial Research Expenditure Dashboard (FRED) is a tool to assist department and grant administrators (DAs) in managing their research dollars.

About FRED

FRED is intended to aid DAs in managing grant expenditures and expanding forecasting capabilities. This is a one-stop dynamic tool built within Microsoft PowerBI that provides:

  • Grant expense monitoring across awards
  • Projection capabilities within and across sponsor awards
  • Alerts to support post award management based on thresholds used by Sponsored Programs
Log into FRED with your Kerberos password

*Only individuals with the “Department Administrator” role in SAP with active grants will have access to data in FRED.

Ensure that you are signed in with your BU email address, not your BMC address
