Hackathon for Health Equity

Are you passionate about using data to tackle real-world challenges related to equity and social justice? Interested in exploring ways to improve access to and transparency of public health data in the United States? This one-day hackathon event brings together undergraduate students and public health professionals to answer important public health questions by applying quantitative research methods.

To explore these questions, teams will analyze data related to important societal topics, with a focus on infectious diseases. With supportive mentoring from experienced epidemiologists and health researchers, participants will write statistical code to evaluate determinants and inequities in important health outcomes.

Whether you’re studying computer science, economics, health sciences, or any other field, this hackathon will provide an opportunity to develop your quantitative research skills, work in dynamic teams, gain hands-on experience, and present your findings. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to network with mentors and professionals committed to driving change in health and healthcare.
