Meet the American Parkinson Disease Foundation
The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is a nationwide grassroots network dedicated to fighting Parkinson’s disease (PD) and works tirelessly to help the approximately one million with PD in the United States to live life to the fullest in the face of this chronic neurological disorder. Chief Mission Officer Rebecca Gilbert will join us to discuss the APDA’s three key funding programs: the George C. Cotzias, MD, Memorial Fellowship, Research Grants, and Diversity in Parkinson’s Disease Research Grant.
BU faculty members Marie-Hélène Saint-Hilaire, Professor of Neurology and Director of the APDA Center for Advanced Research at BU, and Theresa Ellis, Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy, Director of the APDA National Rehabilitation Resource Center at BU, will also share their experiences working with APDA.
