The Kluge Center in the Library’s Thomas Jefferson Building brings a small number of major scholars and thinkers to the Library of Congress every year to use the rich and often unique materials available here. Appointees are chosen on the basis of intellectual accomplishment, the ability to communicate ideas to a broad audience, and their relevance to the challenges faced by democracies in the 21st century.
