Mental Health Training in Options Counseling

Options counselors, while not mental health professionals trained in assessment, may greatly benefit from education on mental health conditions, cultural contexts, relevant language, and the importance of consumer self-determination. This self-paced course from the Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research, part of Boston University's School of Social Work, supports the development of communication skills among options counselors working with consumers and families of individuals with serious mental health conditions.
